For my motion graphic I was put into a team of eight students, two of which flew in from Denmark. The objective was far from simple, but a fantasic learning process and reflection of what could happen to any designer in the real world.
Argonaut, a consulting program created by Creso Inc., is aimed to be the cat-scan of your orginization.
Initially we were given two & a half months to produce a motion graphic based off a script provided for us. Within the first two weeks, in order to keep us on schedule, a full story board needed to have been completed along with a thirty second intro of how our vision would look on screen.
Name: Denise Martinez
Age: 42
Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – The senior executive with responsibility for the financial affairs of Wood, an advertising agency in New York City.
Scenario: Denise’s boss needs a quick answer to why the company is losing money. She has over 1,000 employees underneath her, and cannot monitor everyone’s productivity levels. She needs a way to assess the strengths and weaknesses of her staff.
Goals: Identify the weaknesses of her staff and be able to implement strategies to improve overall performance.
Name: Michael Flannigan
Age: 60
Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – The highest-ranking person in Anthem, a paper distribution company that covers the entire west coast of the United States. Overall, he is responsible for making managerial decisions.
Scenario: Michael’s company has been very successful in the past, but recently has not had the highest levels of productivity. He has been trying all the usual methods of problem solving, but none seem to work.
Goals: Improve company productivity as a whole and ultimately bring his company success.
Following completion, a new vision was requested; one that is text dominate, with a simplified color palate and little to no cartoon animation.
After a week long break for Thanksgiving two months had passed and the videos were expected to have been completed; but once our break was over the class was told that, after a long review of the script provided, it was way to redundent and lacked a clear and simple explanation of the program presented.
The last and final request was to shorten our presentation down to thirty seconds.
The new assets were designed with one goal in mind. Portray how the Argonaut system can simplify the way we view organizations, allowing us to target issues in work flow much more accurately.
