Through my Fall semester at California State University of Fullerton I, Nathanael DeVaughn Moody, was presented with a number of different challenges, one of which was to excel my ability to design by producing this portfolio. The overall objective was to create a true reflection of myself, not just as a designer but as a person.
In a time where ‘positive vibes’ are the desire, many want nothing to do with negativity. If an assumption is made that positivity is all that ought to be showcased, a tremendous opportunity highlighting the process of how we manage to persevere would be abandoned.
Here you will be taken on a journey, not only enjoying the fruits of my labor but engaging in the process of how I became & will continue to grow as a professional designer.
The first project I was given, aside from the site construction itself, was a looping three-second animation or ‘.gif’; a motif that would serve as cover art for my portfolio.
With this being my first attempt at animating I decided to keep it old school and produce a rough draft using the flip book method.
After sketching a quick rough draft, I was left unhappy with the final scenes. Wanting to implement myself into my work with lifelike realism, I decided to film myself acting out what I envisioned.
